Guidelines for Authors

Authors are invited to make a submission to our Advances in Approximation Theory (AAT). All submissions will initially be assessed by our Editors-in-Chief (EiCs) to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be assigned to one of the members of our Editorial Board (EB) and then sent for peer review before deciding whether they should be revised or accepted or rejected.

We understand that the common language of mathematics is broken English, or, more precisely, broken American. Therefore, we don't expect stylistic and grammatical perfection. Nevertheless, we will not tolerate carelessness, misprints, sloppy punctuation, and mixed use of American and British spellings. We may quick-reject (QR) a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality.

All coauthors must agree to have their names included although we require neither formal proof of this nor formal evidence of their actual contribution to the paper.

We understand that sometimes very good papers get rejected by respected journals. We have no explicit policies about considering papers that were rejected elsewhere. Nevertheless, we ask that if such papers are submitted to AAT then the authors must justify why the principle "if it's not good enough for them then it's not good enough for us" should not be applied to their paper.

There are no size restrictions with the understanding that content justifies size.

We have no explicit polices about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) at this point but as AI develops, we will implement appropriate guidelines. However, if AI was used at any step during the research or while writing the paper, it must be explained.

Authors must get preliminary approval if they are planning to submit survey papers, book reviews, or any other material that contains no original research.

N.B. Submission letters are optional and please include them only if you have any special requests.

N.B. It is unnecessary to submit separately key words, phrases, abstracts, TeX files, etc.

N.B. For a Letter to the Editor, for a paper for a conference proceeding, and for a paper for a volume dedicated to our distinguished peers please include a submission letter so we would know how to treat it.
